Founded in 1892 by the Russian noble Sergei Khudekov, the local Botanic Gardens widely known as the Dendrarium, is one of the most beautiful parks on the Caucasus Black Sea Coast. It boasts the largest collection of exotic plants in Russia.
- Its layout replicates Franco-Italian terrace parks, so popular in the late 19th century. Numerous tree-lined alleyways,
- sculptures and fountains add to the park’s beauty.
-
- On a fifty hectare site with panoramic views of the city and the Black Sea, the Dendrarium acts as a nursery for over 2,500 species of plants native to the Middle East, the Mediterranean, India, South America, Japan, Australia and other regions: eucalypts, cork oaks, cypresses, and sakura as well as coffee trees, iron wood, tulip trees, etc.
Kids will also love going to the park, as it's a home for such birds as the peacock, ostrich, swan and duck.
