With an area of 1,352 square kilometers (522 sq mi) Adler District is the southernmost area of the country, located just north of the border with Abkhazia. It's the air gates of the city, and the 2014 Winter Olympics venue. The upland part of the district includes a network of remote mountain villages and the ski resort of Krasnaya Polyana, the Mountain Cluster. The Coastal Cluster is the Imeretinsky Lowland, a brand new resort which has been built between the Mzymta and Psou rivers. The two clusters are only 30 minutes apart from each other, making the 22nd Winter Olympic games one of the most compact ever held.

The Adler District highlights include:

• Sky-Park AJ Hackett Sochi - the first in Russia Exteme Park was open to the public in the summer of 2014 thanks to AJ Hackett – the New Zealand traveller with a love of thrill-inducing sports, famous for his Eiffel Tower jump in Paris, June 26, 1987. The longest suspension footbridge in the world measuring 439 metres stretches across the Ahshtyrsky Gorge, which the Mzymta River runs through. Halfway across the bridge is the largest bungee jump in the world, 207 meters off the ground! The jump is completely safe and, it is guaranteed to be one of the most memorable and exciting experiences of your life.
• Rope Parks – Panda Park Rosa Khutor, Gorky Gorod Rope Park, and the Rope Park in the Wild Life Sanctuary are an adventure experience for explorers of all ages and abilities. Visitors aged 4 to 65 will build skills, get exercise and enjoy nature. The Rope Parks have gained tremendous popularity as they provide an opportunity for everyone to enjoy the outdoor and the beauty of nature.
• Krasnaya Polyana Ski Resort - with its perfect location right at the foot of the Caucasus Mountains, this renovated resort offers one of the best skiings in Russia. Majestic peaks, more than 3000 m high, are just a short journey from the city center (40 minutes by fast train). This is Russia's largest ski resort with ski villages offering new luxury ski hotels with international names, waters parks, night clubs, restaurants and cafes. The stunning surroundings of Krasnaya Polyana provide an endless supply of mountain activities.
• Olympic Park - the Sochi Olympic Park built specially for the 2014 Winter Olympics and located in the Imeretinsky Lowland, houses the main Olympic Stadium used for the Games ceremonies, and the venues that were used for indoor sports such as hockey, figure skating, curling, and speed skating. It also houses training facilities, the Olympic Village, the international broadcasting center, and other amenities. The Olympic Park is also home to the Sochi Autodrom Racing Circuit, which once a year hosts the Formula One Russian Grand Prix.
• Sochi Park – dubbed the “Russia Disneyland”, the first Russian Adventureland was built in the Imeretinsky Lowland for the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics, and it has become the largest amusement park in Russia. There are roller coasters, thrill rides for the daring family members, kiddie rides for the children and family rides for everyone in the family to enjoy.
• Trout Farm — the largest fish farm in Russia opened in 1964. The farm is so big that 90 per cent of Russian trout supply come from this particular place. Here they raise all species of trout known in the world. Some of them weigh up to 25-30 kg and live up to 12 years.
• Dolphinarium – Dolphins’ show in Adler (30 minutes drive from the city center) is a real fun. It offers a great entertainment for children and adults alike.
• Discovery World Aquarium – with its rich collection of underwater life, it is the largest aquarium in Russia and one of the premier attractions of Adler resort. It houses some 4 000 freshwater and marine fishes as well as other aquatic animals from around the world. They inhabit 30 aquariums with total water capacity of some 5 million liters.
