Rosa Khutor is the largest and the main ski area here. Located at the end of the Krasnaya Polaya valley, this resort is filled with Alpine charm, and you could easily mistake the scenery for that of an Austrian or Swiss ski areas. The village consists of two rows of five-storied buildings facing each other across the Mzymta river. All have baroque gables and mansard roofs. Luxury ski hotels with familiar names line broad boulevards on both river banks.

Rosa Khutor has challenging steeps, and it hosted the main 2014 Olympic alpine events.

With a base elevation of 560 meters along the Mzymta River, the lift-served summit climbs to 2,320 meters, giving a vertical drop of over a mile at 1,760 meters and making Rosa Khutor one of the biggest lift-served ski resorts anywhere. Most of the ski slopes are northeast facing, with the backside slopes facing southwest. The terrain isn’t ideal for beginners, although there are several ski schools with decent reputations. But advanced skiers will enjoy every minute here.

Rosa Peak, the summit of the ski area, will amaze you with breathtaking views of the Caucasus and the Black Sea far below.
